As for the story, it takes place in the year 2062. 20 years have passed since a large-scale labor-automation project resulted in Artemis, the AI at the core of the project, battling mankind and devastating the Earth.

An amnesiac girl called Empress, who is one of three surviving guardians of humanity, awakens in an underground facility and learns from the colonel of an under-construction moon-to-Earth orbital elevator, through which Artemis plans to send its machine forces. However, standing in the way of Empress and the colonel are Empress’s former allies Dead Master and Strength, as well as Artemis’s unmanned forces and the Smiley cult.

Nine regular humans from different parts of the world are abducted and transformed into cyborgs with astounding powers for the purpose of being used as weapons. The nine cyborgs rebel and start to fight against their creators in the name of justice and world peace. Decades later, the nine cyborgs seem to be untouched by time, but they live in a world where “justice” has as many nuances as the number of people living on the planet. What is their place in the world now? “In the beginning was the Voice, and the word was Him; and all obeyed His word in great awe. It revolves around assassins, man-eating demons, and a whole conspiracy where people’s emotions go haywire and the turmoil of war. Biao Ren reminds me of Vagabond, and probably will suffer the same fate that it will never finish.
