Buried within the numerous clubs at Nijigasaki High School lies the school idol club. The club, while lacking popularity, definitely does not lack potential. During their debut performance, they were able to seize a sizable audience, along with the attention of their schoolmates Ayumu Uehara and Yuu Takasaki.

Enamored, the duo makes their way to join the club; however, they are disappointed to find out that the club had just been disbanded. Nevertheless, Ayumu does not believe that it should have ended there. Together with Yuu, they begin restoring the school idol club, hoping to recreate the idol performances that dazzled them before.

Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai shines its spotlight over the reformed school idol club as they recruit both former members of the club alongside newcomers. Taking the first step toward their dreams, how will these girls achieve idol stardom?

As for the story, it takes place in the year 2062. 20 years have passed since a large-scale labor-automation project resulted in Artemis, the AI at the core of the project, battling mankind and devastating the Earth.

An amnesiac girl called Empress, who is one of three surviving guardians of humanity, awakens in an underground facility and learns from the colonel of an under-construction moon-to-Earth orbital elevator, through which Artemis plans to send its machine forces. However, standing in the way of Empress and the colonel are Empress’s former allies Dead Master and Strength, as well as Artemis’s unmanned forces and the Smiley cult.

Reina Aharen, a small and cute student with a quiet voice, is quite bad at determining distance and personal space. Sometimes she’s inches away from your face, and at other times, miles too far! However, when he meets an unusual girl called Misuzu, he is reminded of what his mother once told him—”When you go out on your journey, if you find the winged girl’s re-incarnation, you must use your power to set her free.” Yukito and Misuzu’s fates soon become intertwined with each other, with each developing feelings for the other. However when Yukito realizes Misuzu’s connection to the past, he must decide on whether to leave, or to attempt to break the curse that has bound Kanna in centuries of pain.
